Each July the City of San Dimas celebrates Parks Make Life Better Month. In past years the recognition has focused on people and the programs in our parks. This year the Parks and Recreation Department wants to share the natural beauty in our City parks. The Department invites San Dimas residents who are student's in 1st - 8th grade to submit a photo that represents the beauty of nature in our City parks. The photo can be of a plant, insect, bird, or other animal. It can be a sunset, landscape, anything that the student feels depicts the beauty of one of our local City parks.
Here are the guidelines:
Entries: The contest is open to San Dimas residents who are students in grades 1st - 8th grade. One entry per person. Entry must be taken by the student and can be submitted electronically. Along with a JPEG of the photo the information must include the completed entry form that includes:
* Student's name, address, phone number
* School and grade
* The location, date and time it was taken
Entry must be submitted electronically all with an completed version of the entry form to the Parks and Recreation Department care of Recreation Coordinator Dominique Borba, email@example.com no later than Friday, June 16 @ 5 pm. All photos must be in good taste and be consistent with the theme.
Note: Only the first 50 photos will be entered in the contest. The top 15 photos will be presented at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 7 pm as part of the Parks Make Life Better recognition in July.
Judging: City of San Dimas Parks and Recreation staff will review and select the final entries for the City Council presentation.
Recognition: Selected winners will be invited to the City Council meeting of July11 to receive a certificate of recognition from the Mayor and a $10 gift card to a local business.
