Memorial Day Trash Pick-Up Delay (May 18, 2018)

Waste Management of San Gabriel Valley's curbside residential trash and recycling and commercial pick-up schedule will be delayed by one day throughout the week of May 28, in observance of Memorial Day. Also, all Waste Management operations will be closed on Monday, May 28. Customers in San Dimas should place their carts out for pick-up on Wednesday, May 30 for this week only.

California Statewide Direct Primary Election, June 5 (May 1, 2018)

Lets Vote

California's statewide Primary Election for Propositions and Governor is Tuesday, June 5.
The last day to register or re-register to vote in this election is Monday, May 21.
Your request must be postmarked no later than Monday, May 21.

You may pick-up a Voter Registration Card at City Hall in the lobby areas and counters. Voter Registration Cards should be mailed to the Los Angeles County Register Recorder's address shown on the registration card.

Foothill Gold Line Rail Project to Move Forward (May 16, 2018)


The Foothill Gold Line light rail extension from Glendora to Montclair broke ground in December 2017. The first few years of the project is being spent relocating utilities along the 12.3-mile rail corridor and hiring the design-build team to build the $1.5 billion, six-station project.

Movies and Music in the Park (May 16, 2018)


Bring the whole family out this summer to enjoy FREE Movies and Music in the Park.

The fun kicks off June 13 with our Movies in the Park featuring Sing. Continuing the fun there will be 7 weeks of Concerts in the Park from June 20 through August 8. The summer fun will wrap up with a Movie in the Park on August 15 featuring CoCo. Concerts will run from 7pm-9pm and movie nights will begin at dusk and conclude when the movies ends.

Registration is now open for recreation classes and programs. Information on all classes is available in the Summer edition of the San Dimas Frontier City Newsletter and Recreation Guide recently mailed to all San Dimas residents. The Frontier is also available at San Dimas City Hall, San Dimas Library, Senior Community Center, and San Dimas Recreation Center.

Kids Fun Club & Teen City Summer Camp Information (Apr 27, 2018)


The City of San Dimas offers Kids Fun Club for children in grades 1-5 (Kids Fun Club-$80) and Teen City program for teens grades 6-9 (Teen City- $80) during summer break. The weekly camps begin June 11 and end August 17 and are open M - F from 7 am - 6 pm.

Registration Information:
Residents: May 2 begins 7:30 am at City Hall
Non Residents: May 3 begins 7:30 am at City Hall

CalFresh Nutrition Program (Apr 27, 2018)

San Dimas residents may be eligible for the CalFresh nutrition program. The purpose of this program is to promote and safeguard the health and well-being of lower-income households by increasing their ability to purchase healthy and nutritious food. 

CalFresh applications are processed within 30 days. In emergency situations, a household may receive CalFresh benefits within three days from the date of their CalFresh application. 

CalFresh will have a booth at an upcoming Farmers Market; be sure to look out for them to find out additional information.

Marchant Park Project Update (Apr 5, 2018)


The windows and doors have been installed on the Recreation Building as the Marchant Park Improvement Project continues to progress. The ventilation system ducting, thermal insulation and rough electrical components have been completed in the interior of the building.
Work has begun on the installation of new irrigation components as well as forming of the new sidewalks and mow curbs around the Recreation Building.

Painting of the tennis courts fencing and light poles have been completed. The tennis courts will receive new wind screens and will be resurfaced.

The Project is scheduled to be completed in early summer 2018 and a grand opening is planned for mid July. For more information, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 909-394-6230.

Local Variety and Family Fun, the San Dimas Farmers Market (Mar 30, 2018)


The weekly Farmers Market, hosted by Advocates for Healthy Living, is back! The Market takes place every Wednesday evening from 4 pm to 8:30 pm through September 5, with extended hours during non-school days until 9 pm.

Take the night off from cooking and come out to enjoy specially prepared foods such as BBQ delights, tamales, sweets, and roasted corn. Certified growers will be selling all of your favorite California fruits, vegetables, and flowers. EBT/SNAP Accepted.

With live bands, handcrafted gifts and home decor, and a variety of games and rides, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Support the San Dimas Farmers Market and make every Wednesday a night of family fun and entertainment. Find the Market on Facebook at sandimasfarmersmarket for weekly promotions.
