As of February 1, Waste Management officially took over trash service billing from Golden State Water for San Dimas residents, offering one point for contact for both customer service and billing.
By now residents should have received a bill from Waste Management for February trash services (this is the only time you will receive a monthly bill from Waste Management). Beginning in March you will be billed by Waste Management on a bi-monthly basis.
As this is a new system, the City is asking residents to check their billing statements to ensure everything is correct and they are billed for the right services.
If you find an error with your bill, contact Waste Management Customer Service at (800) 266-7551.
A new LA County program has been launched to help increase proper disposal compliance of household sharps. The "Contain and Responsibly Dispose (CARD) Your Sharps" Initiative, provides resources to help residents safely discard their used household sharps including the option of a no-cost, FDA-cleared sharps container, regardless of their sharps provider.
Medical technology company BD launched the "CARD Your Sharps" initiative to help ensure proper containment and disposal of household sharps, a health concern that when disposed of improperly could cause injury or spread infection.
Through this initiative, any LA County resident who fills a prescription for sharps can receive by mail a free sharps container with information on convenient local disposal sites. Patients can also receive step-by-step instructions on responsible sharps disposal from 300 participating retail pharmacies.
This program supplements and supports the programs already in place in communities throughout LA County -- which help keep our beaches and waterways clean, our sanitation workers safe and help ensure that patients who use sharps are in compliance with California law.
