The Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA) will be conducting railroad testing on the San Bernardino Line Railroad tracks between the El Monte and Pomona (North) Stations on February 17-18.
The test train will meet at the Pomona North Station at 2 am on Saturday and will travel between Pomona North and El Monte Station until 7 am. Testing will continue at 7:30 pm that evening and the train will travel between the Pomona North and Baldwin Park Stations until 7:30 am on Sunday, February 18.
Impacts from the testing to the community will be noise from the trains and horns being blown at all crossings.

Each year the San Dimas Chamber of Commerce hosts Mayor Curt Morris for the delivery of his annual State of the City address. Mayor Morris will look back at the City's accomplishments over the past year and provide a look at upcoming and long-range future developments. Along with his address, the Mayor will also answer questions from the audience.

Every year the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the City of San Dimas proclaim May as Older American Recognition Month. Nominations for the San Dimas Older American Honoree are reviewed by the Senior Citizen Commission and the selected Honoree is recommended to the San Dimas City Council for final appointment. The San Dimas Older American Honoree represents the City of San Dimas at the Los Angeles County Older American Recognition Day celebration; during Western Days, sponsored by the San Dimas Chamber of Commerce; and during San Dimas Day at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona.

The Annual Jackie Bristow Memorial 5k Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, January 6.
The special event will close portions of Iglesia, 4th Street, Walnut, Bonita, San Dimas Ave, Gladstone and San Dimas Canyon Road. The race/street closures will be in effect from 5 am to 1 pm.

Registration is now open for recreation classes and programs. Information on all classes is available in the Winter edition of the San Dimas Frontier City Newsletter and Recreation Guide recently mailed to all San Dimas residents. The Frontier is also available at San Dimas City Hall, San Dimas Library, Senior Community Center, and San Dimas Recreation Center.
Waste Management of San Gabriel Valley's curbside residential trash and recycling and commercial pick-up schedule will be delayed by one day throughout the week of December 25 and the week of January 1, in observance Christmas and New Years Day.

In observance of the Holidays, the City of San Dimas will not require overnight parking permits from Monday (Morning), December 18 through Monday (Morning), January 1. Normal parking enforcement will resume on Tuesday, January 2 at 2 am.
San Dimas HEROES is proud to announce that they will be hosting "The Wall That Heals," a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica & Mobile Education Center, on March 22 - 25. We are one of only 38 cities in the United States who will be hosting the "Wall" in 2018. The "Wall" will be located at Lone Hill Middle School at 700 S. Lone Hill in San Dimas. The HEROES Organization will be holding a meeting for anyone who would like to donate some of their time during the four days. The meeting will be held on Monday, January 15 at 6 pm at the San Dimas Sheriff's Station located at 270 S. Walnut Ave in San Dimas.
