The Equestrian and Public Safety Commissions are recruiting residents of the city to become a member of the commission. The Public Safety Commission appointment is potentially for three (2) two year terms - term expires in 2024. The Equestrian Commission appointment is filling an unexpected vacancy of two (2) year terms - term expires in 2021.
Applications are being accepted in the City Clerk's office until 5:00 p.m. on February 28.

Meet with key City officials at the City of San Dimas' "State of the City" Breakfast. The event is free to attend and will take place on Wednesday, February 7 from 7:30 am - 9 am at the San Dimas Senior Center, 201 E Bonita Ave.
Each year the San Dimas Chamber of Commerce hosts Mayor Curt Morris for the delivery of his annual State of the City address. Mayor Morris will look back at the City's accomplishments over the past year and provide a look at upcoming and long-range future developments. Along with his address, the Mayor will also answer questions from the audience.

Now through March 31 single adults 18 years old and over are eligible to access any of the Los Angeles County Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) Winter Shelters. All families in need of resources are encouraged to call 2-1-1 for additional assistance.

The City of San Dimas and the San Dimas Parks and Recreation Commission are accepting nominations from the community for Distinguished Service to Youth Awards. The purpose of the awards, which have been given annually since 1976, is to recognize and honor people in the community who have demonstrated exceptional service to San Dimas youth and to create an awareness of the need for citizens to become involved in youth programs.

Every year the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the City of San Dimas proclaim May as Older American Recognition Month. Nominations for the San Dimas Older American Honoree are reviewed by the Senior Citizen Commission and the selected Honoree is recommended to the San Dimas City Council for final appointment. The San Dimas Older American Honoree represents the City of San Dimas at the Los Angeles County Older American Recognition Day celebration; during Western Days, sponsored by the San Dimas Chamber of Commerce; and during San Dimas Day at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona.

The Annual Jackie Bristow Memorial 5k Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, January 6.
The special event will close portions of Iglesia, 4th Street, Walnut, Bonita, San Dimas Ave, Gladstone and San Dimas Canyon Road. The race/street closures will be in effect from 5 am to 1 pm.
