Historic Downtown

The charming Historic Downtown on Bonita Avenue, between Cataract and Walnut, invites pedestrians to take a leisurely stroll to visit family owned restaurants, antique stores, numerous service providers, one of the region's premier model railroad stores, and a real hometown hardware store. Anchored on the west by the 1934 railroad depot (now a museum) and on the east by the Puddingstone Village (Albertsons) Shopping Center, the San Dimas Civic Center and Post Office. The original 1969 City Hall, Plummer Building, and the community plaza they share, were expanded and remodeled in 2011 and serve as the focus of many popular events. There are dozens of historic buildings in the Downtown, but perhaps none more beautiful or important than the recently restored Walker House, which was built in 1887 to be a railroad hotel, but now is home to the San Dimas Historical Society, Festival of Arts, an art gallery, and a restaurant.
