If you are not registered, you are missing out on exercising your right to vote. Voting is a great privilege and significant personal freedom; it is the most important tool you have to affect change.
You may register to vote by completing a registration-by-mail form or you may complete the on-line California Voter Registration Form by visiting www.lavote.net.
Mail-in forms are available at:
You may register to vote if you are a citizen of the United States and you will be at least 18 years of age at the time of the next election. You must register at least 15 days before an election to be eligible to vote in that election.
You must re-register to vote if you have moved, changed your name or wish to change your political party affiliation. The deadline to re-register is 15 days prior to the next election.
A Vote By Mail Ballot (Absentee) allows you to vote without having to go to your polling place. If you should change your mind before voting your ballot, you may still vote at the polls; take your Vote By Mail Ballot with you and explain to the poll worker that you would like to vote there.
