Election Home Page

Welcome to the election information home page. Our goal is to provide voters and residents with the information they need to fully and properly exercise their voting rights. Information is grouped together with general information on the voting process, the current or upcoming election, candidates and issues. There is also information on your polling place and how to volunteer as a poll worker.

General municipal elections are held in the City of San Dimas on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in March of odd-numbered years. Other municipal elections or special elections may be called from time to time by the City Council.

The City Council is made up of a Mayor and four Councilmembers, for a total of five members. Each election three people are elected to the City Council. Two City Council members are elected to four year terms and the mayor is elected to a two-year term. These positions are elected by San Dimas citizens at large. The offices of Mayor and City Council are non-partisan.

You must be at least eighteen years of age, a registered voter and resident of the city. (To be verified at your appointment time to pull nomination papers)

All documents necessary to become a candidate are obtained and filed with the City Clerk. If you are interested in becoming a candidate or have any questions regarding municipal elections please contact the City Clerk at (909) 394-6216 or email at cityclerk@ci.san-dimas.ca.us.
