A helping hand for children who want to play and learn!
Do you know of a child who would love to participate in a City sponsored recreation activity but whose family may not have the financial means to do so? Would they enjoy karate, basketball, jazz dance or day camp? Or maybe they would enjoy a music class? Most folks are reluctant to ask for help or don't know what's available and so these children miss out on the wonderful opportunity that a recreation activity can offer.
The City of San Dimas Parks and Recreation Departments Youth Assistance Scholarship Program (YASP) is made available by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The YASP encourages participation from households who could otherwise not afford the City's recreation activities fees.
Households who meet the income level limits (low to moderate income based on household size) can apply through the Parks and Recreation Department for an activity scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on need and typically cover half of the activity fee. There is a scholarship limit per household and documentation of residency in San Dimas and income of all household members is required.
For more information about the City of San Dimas YASP please call the Parks and Recreation Department at 909-394-6230
