Nutrition & Transportation Programs

Chuckwagon Lunch Program: Hot lunches served to individuals 60 years of age and over at the Senior Center Multi-Purpose Room. Lunch served Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. Get About: Tickets for nutrition program transportation can be obtained see Nutrition Site Manager for more information.
Suggested donation is $3.00 per person for those 60 years of age and older and $5.00 per person for those under the age of 60. Reservations are required at least two days in advance by calling (909) 394-6298 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
 

YWCA Intervale Senior Services Home Delivered Meals: Frozen microwaveable meals delivered once a week to any eligible homebound senior age 60 and over in the San Gabriel Valley area. Seven meals include fresh fruit, milk, bread, and margarine. No charge for the service. A voluntary confidential donation of $2.00 per meal is suggested. For meal delivery information please contact YWCA Intervale Services at (626) 960-2995.

Meals on Wheels: Hot lunch delivered by a friendly volunteer to any eligible homebound resident is the San Dimas and La Verne area. Regular and diabetic menus are available. Monday through Friday from Noon to 1:00 p.m. For meal delivery information please call Meals on Wheels at (909) 596-1828.

Get-About: Get About is a door-to-door transportation service for seniors and disabled persons in the Pomona Valley. Get About is funded and sponsored by the cities of Claremont, La Verne, Pomona and San Dimas and is operated on their behalf by the Pomona Valley Transportation Authority. Community Senior Services provides registration services for Get About. Riders registered with Get About can travel throughout the Pomona Valley, Monday through Sunday. All they need to do is call the day before their trip. For information or registration for Get About, please call (909) 621-9900. To reserve a ride, call (909) 596-5964.

Dial-A-Cab: San Dimas Dial-a-Cab is a shared ride cab service that offers reliable transportation at a reasonable price. Whether you are visiting, shopping, going to medical appointments, or to and from work, San Dimas Dial-a-Cab is available to you. Just call the same day-a cab or minivan will pick you up at the curb typically within 45 minutes of your request. It's easy. Call (909) 622-4435.

Metro Access Services: Access Services provides transportation for individuals with disabilities who are unable to use fixed route buses. For more information and eligibility requirements call (800) 827-0829.

Community Connections: Community Connections provides door-through-door assisted transportation to seniors and individuals with disabilities. The key to the program is providing mileage reimbursement for volunteers to transport individuals who are too frail, ill, or unable to use public transportation for other reasons or wish to cross city or county lines.
