Marchant Park Improvement Project

New Recreation Building with 600 sq.ft. addition

The City of San Dimas Parks and Recreation Department is renovating and expanding the existing Recreation Building and replacing the play equipment at Marchant Park, 425 E. Juanita Avenue, as well as renovating several buildings and structures.

The existing recreation building will be renovated through the addition of 600 square feet of space, providing for ADA accessibility upgrades, restoration of interior finishes, and modification of the building exterior. The existing restroom building will be replaced by a larger and ADA accessible pre-fabricated restroom building. The new restroom will service three times the capacity of the current facility and a new concrete walkway will be constructed leading to it.

The project includes the removal of the two existing outdated playgrounds which will be replaced by ADA accessible playgrounds and pathways. The new play areas will feature more challenging play equipment and include full ADA access for the apparatus, a sand play table, and the swings. There will be a swing specifically for children with limited mobility. The current sand surfacing will be replaced with ADA compliant rubber surfacing beneath the play structures.

The project began on September 18 and is anticipated to be completed by Spring 2018. For more information, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 909-394-6230.
