In December of 1991, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors appointed retired Judge James Kolts as special counsel for the purpose of reviewing the "policies, practices and procedures of the Sheriff's Department." The Kolts report was released in July of 1992. One of the recommendations listed in the report was to increase two way communication between the public and the Sheriff's department. By 1994, the Community Advisory Committee's were in full swing. The purpose of these committees is to continue to gain public trust and support by building a better understanding between the Sheriff's Department and the public it serves through education and communication.
Thank you for visiting our webpage! I've been a proud member of the San Dimas Station CAC for 15 years. As a longtime local resident and business owner I have a particular vested interest in the quality of my community. I also know that without support and input from its citizens, government agencies are far less in tune with the needs and concerns of the people they serve. If you have a quality of life issue you would like our advisory committtee to address, please contact us via email and one of our board members or professional representatives will respond as soon as possible.
