Welcome to the City of San Dimas Public Works Department home page. The Public Works Department provides integral services to our community everyday.  Our goal is to provide quality service with pride, courtesy and commitment.  The Public Works Department provides engineering and street maintenance services for the San Dimas community.

The range of responsibilities that are handled by the Public Works Department under the direction of Krishna Patel, Director of Public Works, are varied and include the following:

Public Works Engineering

The Engineering Division of the Public Works Department provides engineering and contract administration for street improvements, sanitary sewer and storm drain projects, streetlight and traffic signal systems, and park and landscape projects for the City. The Engineering Division also has functions connected to surveying and design, right-of-way engineering, and plan check of new development.

This division also coordinates with other agencies on issues relating to the city's infrastructure, prepares reports and studies of relevant issues, and provides analysis and exhibits on public works projects to the City Manager and the City Council.

Street Maintenance

The Street Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of streets within the community. Operating on the basis of the City's Capital Improvement Plan, the division performs routine repair and construction tasks on the City's streets. Further, the division has responsibilities that include street cleaning, storm drain and sewer maintenance, and the maintenance of city streetlights and traffic signals.

San Dimas City Hall Moves to a Temporary Facility

Beginning March 8, 2010, the City of San Dimas City Hall will open its doors at a temporary location at 186 Village Court, just west of Lowe's Home Improvement Center.


To facilitate the move, City Hall will be closed from 5:30 PM on Thursday, March 4 until 1:00 PM on Monday, March 8. Business hours at the Temporary City Hall will remain Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM and Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The public may continue to call City of San Dimas personnel at existing extensions or at the general number, (909) 394-6200.

The existing City Hall and Civic Center Plaza at 245 East Bonita will be expanded and remodeled over the next year. During construction, the City of San Dimas will serve the public from the Temporary City Hall location. The Senior Center, located at 201 E. Bonita Avenue, will continue to be open during construction.
