The San Dimas Parks and Recreation Department needs enthusiastic volunteer coaches. Your knowledge and experience are wanted for this league. Season is November 2009 -February 2010. Must be able to conduct two practices a week and available on Saturday mornings for games. The City of San Dimas encourages all citizens to involve themselves in the decision making process by participating on the various City commissions, committees and boards. Serving on an advisory commission, committee or board provides an opportunity to assist in the implementation of local policies. The Equestrian Commission, the Planning Commission, the Senior Citizens Commission, the Public Safety Commission, the Parks & Recreation Commission, and the Design Plan Review Board are some of the advisory commissions and boards on which residents serve. Each entity is composed of local community members, and not only gives private citizens the ability to participate in civic activities, but also gives voice to specific issues that may not otherwise receive proper attention.
Volunteers are appointed by the City Council to serve on each commission, committee or board. The responsibilities, terms of office, membership size, qualifications, and meeting schedule vary for each commission, committee and board.
