Food Bank Social Service and Shelter Referral

The City of San Dimas sponsors the San Dimas Satellite Center. This food bank is provided by Inland Valley Hope Partners (IVHP), a local non-profit that offers shelter and food programs for persons in need. Eligible persons and families may pick up food every 30 days.

Hours: 2 to 4 p.m.

What you should bring with you:
1. Two forms of I.D. for each person in the household. (e.g., drivers license, CA. I.D. card, social security card, medi-cal card, birth certificate, school I.D., immunization record or report card).
2. Verification of Income (e.g., check stub, most recent CAL WORKS - welfare notice of action letter, S.S. or S.S.I. award letter).
3. Current proof of address (e.g., mail with your name, address, and postmarked within the last 30 days).

The Info-Line, also known as 2-1-1 L.A. County, provides social service referrals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the event of a major disaster they will have the most up to date information regarding emergency services available.

Emergency Shelter and Homeless Services
The East San Gabriel Valley Coalition for the Homeless (ESGVH) operates the Winter Shelter Program from December 1st to March 15th. Please check their website for annual updates of where these shelters are located. Shelters rotate between churches located all over the San Gabriel Valley. There are bus pick-up sites to these churches in the evenings if transportation is needed.

Year-Round Emergency Housing Information
The City Housing Section has also put together a list of resources available to persons and families in need of emergency housing during non- Winter Shelter Months. These services are available year-round to San Dimas residents.
