San Dimas SHARES
The City Housing Section provides San Dimas SHARES (Senior Housing, Alternatives, Resources, Education and Support) free of charge to San Dimas residents and persons 62 years of age or older. The main purpose of this program is to promote shared housing opportunities for the mutual benefit of seniors in our community. Shared housing is a great option for homeowners who need extra income, help paying for household expenses, companionship, and the security of knowing someone is in the home. Renters are seniors who live in our community and can no longer afford to pay high rents and the costs of having a home or apartment. Rents range from $300 to $500 a month and include utilities. All terms of the rental arrangement are determined by the homeowner and renter.

Funding for San Dimas SHARES is provided by Federal and County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and the City of San Dimas Redevelopment Agency.

San Dimas Affordable Housing Guide
This guide was put together to explain affordable housing programs such as Section 8 and provide a listing of apartments in the area that offer reduced rents. This guide also provides information on fair housing offices that give low to no cost legal advice to landlords and tenants.

It is highly recommended that interested persons get on the County of Los Angeles Community Development Commission wait list.
