As the Marchant Park “makeover” nears completion, save the date of Saturday, July 28 for the Grand Opening at 10 am. The park, located at 425 E. Juanita Avenue in San Dimas, underwent a major renovation the past several months.  The event will include free snow cones and giveaways (while supplies last), a ribbon cutting and an opportunity to see all the new and remodeled areas of the park.  The approximately 2.4 million dollar project was funded primarily by the City of San Dimas Park Improvement fund as well as Los Angeles County Proposition A and Cal Recycle.

The recreation building has been completely renovated inside and out. There are new play equipment and ADA accessible rubber surface at both 2-5 years old and 5-12 years old playgrounds. The basketball court and tennis courts have been re-surfaced and a new restroom building is fully operational and ready for service.  New ADA drinking fountains and bike racks are set in multiple locations within the park. New picnic tables, park benches, trash receptacles were also placed. Plants, shrubs, and trees were planted and new mulch has been added as well as a new picnic area for the snack bar building.

Join us on Saturday, July 28 at 10 am at Marchant Park for a great time.  For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (909) 394-6230.
